Marine Boiler Water Treatment, TDS, Blowdown & Chemical Dosing Tool

Convert boiler-water test results into a controlled operating plan. Simple mode sizes steady TDS blowdown, estimates corrective purge volume when boiler water is already above target, and calculates a product correction dose from a supplier dose-response factor. Advanced mode adds condensate return and make-up blending, conductivity cross-checks, blowdown heat loss, chemistry-control registers, multi-product dosing, stock runway and a feedwater-TDS × target-TDS sensitivity map.

Current Boiler Water Condition

tonnes of water in the boiler / active system inventory.
t/h during the operating case.
ppm from the boiler feed line / feed tank basis.
ppm.
ppm, enter the vessel / maker / treatment-program target.
ppm or other supplier test units.
Same test units as current result.
Test-unit increase per L product per tonne boiler water. 83.3 is a demonstration example derived from 2.4 L/t to raise P-Alkalinity about 200 ppm; replace for the actual product.
t/h through the applicable continuous / controlled blowdown path.

Feedwater Solids Basis

Use a measured feedwater TDS or estimate it from condensate return and make-up water. The blend is a simple concentration balance and does not replace actual feedwater sampling.

ppm.
% of total boiler feedwater.
ppm, blend mode.
ppm, blend mode.

TDS / Conductivity Control

ppm.
ppm, user-entered operating target.
ppm from vessel / maker / treatment program.
µS/cm. Optional cross-check.
ppm per µS/cm. Spirax Sarco gives ~0.7 as an approximate 25°C relationship; treatment chemistry can shift the factor.

Water Chemistry Control Register

Enter the vessel's actual control band. Blank low/high limits are treated as “not configured.” This avoids hard-coding one boiler-treatment program across different pressures, makers and chemicals.

Chemical Dosing Register

Correction dose is only calculated when a valid supplier dose-response factor is entered. Routine dose is independently entered as litres of product per tonne of boiler feedwater. This prevents the tool from inventing a universal chemical concentration.

Operating / Treatment Checks

Treatment boundary: this tool performs water and chemical mass-balance screening. It does not establish safe boiler chemistry, chemical compatibility, blowdown-valve sizing certification or treatment approval. Boiler-maker instructions, chemical supplier control charts, company procedures and actual laboratory/test-kit results remain controlling.
