Methodology basis: Worldscale defines market WS levels as percentages of the applicable nominal flat rate, with WS100 equal to the published rate. Its public freight guidance applies the Worldscale equivalent to the flat rate and applicable variable differentials, while fixed differentials depend on their wording. The Baltic Exchange tanker TCE methodology converts Worldscale to $/mt, calculates gross freight, deducts commission and voyage expenses including bunkers/port/miscellaneous costs, and divides net voyage income by total voyage duration. The Ship Universe break-even WS calculations reverse that same entered voyage model for either zero TCE or a user-entered target TCE.
