Estimate vessel dry docking cost, shipyard spending,
hull coating, steel renewal, repairs, surveys,
dock-day charges and off-hire exposure. Use Advanced
mode to build a detailed drydock budget from vessel
dimensions, unit rates and individual work packages.

Scope growth can dominate the final drydock bill:
steel discovered after blasting, machinery opened
for inspection, class findings, coating preparation
and schedule delays can move actual cost materially
above the initial specification. Use the contingency
and sensitivity sections to test that exposure.
Cost method:
direct project cost includes dock charges and entered
work packages. Contingency is applied to direct project
cost, then the entered tax or surcharge is applied to
direct cost plus contingency. Off-hire is calculated
separately from shipyard spending as daily lost
contribution multiplied by planned drydock days plus
any additional off-hire buffer.
Planning estimate only.
Actual vessel dry docking cost depends on ship size,
condition, yard location, specification, class findings,
coating system, steel renewal, machinery inspection,
labour rates, port charges, taxes, exchange rates and
unexpected repairs. The hull-area calculation is a
preliminary geometric estimate rather than a coating
specification or measured surface area. Off-hire value
should reflect the owner's actual expected contribution
or commercial opportunity cost.
