Screen a shipboard crane, derrick or lifting appliance from the lift itself through the 2026 statutory survey chain. Check certified SWL at the working radius, total suspended load, operational dynamic-equivalent demand, minimum port / sheltered-water proof load, hoist-rope line pull, sheave reaction, brake holding, suspended-load moment, loose-gear proof-test requirements, annual thorough examination, five-year retest status, existing-appliance transition requirements and the cost of restoring a deficient appliance to service.

SOLAS Applicability & Appliance Basis
SOLAS II-1/3-13 entered into force on 1 January 2026. Permanently installed lifting appliances are generally within scope, subject to specific exclusions and flag-state treatment of appliances below 1,000 kg SWL.

Certified Load Chart Register
Enter actual certified radius / SWL points from the appliance load chart. The tool interpolates only between adjacent entered points and does not extrapolate beyond them.

Loose Gear Proof-Test Register
MSC.1/Circ.1663 has separate minimum proof-test formulas for loose gear. All loose gear in use should have documentary evidence of proof testing and annual thorough examination.

Survey / Repair Cost Context
Engineering / compliance screening only: This tool is not an approved crane load chart, structural analysis, foundation calculation, wire-rope discard assessment, class approval, competent-person examination or authorization to conduct a proof load test. SWL is a certified static load at a specified radius and operating condition. Open-sea test loads, dynamic factors, sidelead / heel effects, brake criteria and foundation loads must follow the Administration, recognized classification society and appliance manufacturer. Proof testing should only be performed under an approved procedure with suitable calibrated test loads and competent supervision.
