Fouling penalty is the incremental fuel percentage
above that reference. Simple mode assumes the entered
post-cleaning penalty stays constant for the benefit
period. Advanced mode assumes the cleaned-hull penalty
rises linearly from the post-cleaning value to the
entered end-of-period penalty. The uncleaned comparison
remains at the entered current fouling penalty. Results
therefore show the value of cleaning now versus
continuing to operate at the current condition.
