Adding cabins is the easy part. Feeding the extra people through the ship is the real work.
A drydock cabin conversion looks clean on a deck plan. At sea, 50 to 100 new staterooms mean more water, sewage, air conditioning, fire load, lifejackets, luggage, Wi-Fi devices, elevator trips, laundry, housekeeping rounds and buffet pressure. That is where the margin is either protected or quietly given back.
