A drydock cabin conversion looks clean on a deck plan. Cruise lines are using drydocks to create capacity without waiting years for a new ship. The math is attractive: 50 to 100 double-occupancy cabins can add roughly 100 to 200 lower berths. At 320 operating days and 105% occupancy, that is about 33,600 to 67,200 passenger cruise days a year.
