The Singapore-flagged 2,824-TEU containership GFS Pride has sunk after being struck by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz and catching fire, with all 21 crew evacuated safely. The Antigua and Barbuda-flagged Capesize bulker Cape Dao has also now sunk after an unsuccessful salvage effort following its September 23 projectile strike, which killed one seafarer. Singapore separately confirmed that GFS Giselle was struck and suffered hull damage but reached a safe anchorage under its own propulsion with all 22 crew safe. IMO's confirmed Middle East incident count has risen from 100 on October 9 to 113 on October 14, while the latest attack cluster includes multiple containerships alongside tankers, showing that the immediate threat around Hormuz is no longer concentrated primarily on energy shipping.
Two Cargo Ships Are Now on the Bottom
One is a feeder containership. The other is a Capesize bulker. A second Singapore-flagged containership was hit but survived. The immediate casualty picture is expanding beyond the tanker fleet that dominated most of the recent Hormuz attack wave.
Container and Dry-Bulk Ships Are Now Inside the Active Casualty Pattern
Tankers still dominate the broader attack count, but the newest confirmed incidents show multiple cargo classes being hit within the same operational theater.

Cargo-Ship War-Risk & Delay Cost Model
Test the added commercial cost of operating a containership or bulk carrier through a high-risk environment using user-entered insurance, waiting-time and diversion assumptions. The model does not estimate the probability of an attack.
