CMA CGM Group completed its acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain on October 1 at an enterprise value of $1.4 billion, transferring the contract-logistics business into CEVA Logistics. The transaction adds approximately 34 million square feet of warehouse space and nearly 10,000 employees, bringing CEVA’s North American network to approximately 150 warehouses, more than 240 total locations and about 20,000 employees. CMA CGM and FedEx also entered multi-year commercial agreements under which CMA CGM becomes a preferred but non-exclusive ocean carrier for FedEx, while the companies plan air-cargo capacity cooperation on strategic routes including Asia-Europe.

CMA CGM Is Building Around the Container, Not Just Carrying It

North American Footprint Expansion Analyzer

Use CMA CGM's reported acquisition figures to estimate the implied scale of CEVA's North American warehouse network before and after the FedEx Supply Chain transaction.

M sq ft
× pre-deal
CMA CGM describes the transaction as nearly tripling / tripling the North American contract-logistics footprint. This input lets you adjust that approximation.

employees
Official wording is "nearly 10,000"; 10,000 is used here as a rounded modeling assumption.
Implied Post-Deal Warehouse Footprint 51.0M modeled from added square footage and the entered footprint multiple
Implied Pre-Deal Footprint 17.0M derived estimate, not a separately reported CEVA figure
Average Space Per Warehouse 340K modeled square feet per warehouse using the combined facility count
Employees Per Location 83 combined workforce divided by the entered North American location count
Implied Pre-Deal Workforce 10,000 combined workforce less the modeled workforce acquired
Added Space Share 66.7% acquisition-added square footage as a share of modeled post-deal footprint
Warehouse Footprint Before vs After
The pre-deal square-foot estimate is mathematically inferred from CMA CGM's statement that the acquisition roughly triples CEVA's contract-logistics footprint.
Implied Pre-Deal CEVA 17.0M sq ft
FedEx Supply Chain Added 34.0M sq ft
Combined Workforce 20,000
Network Interpretation +200%
At an exact 3× footprint assumption, the transaction adds roughly twice CEVA's previously modeled North American contract-logistics area. Because the company's public wording is approximate, treat the result as a scale illustration rather than reported real-estate totals.
Warehouses 150
Locations 240+
Employees 20K
Added Area 34M
Important modeling note: CMA CGM publicly reports the 34 million square feet added and says the deal nearly triples or triples CEVA's North American contract-logistics footprint. It does not separately disclose an exact pre-transaction square-foot total in the acquisition announcement. The implied 17 million-square-foot baseline shown under the default 3× assumption is therefore derived, not a reported company figure.
