Shipbuilding Refund Guarantee, Yard Credit Risk, Progress Payments & Delivery Default Tool

See where newbuilding cash leaves the buyer, where refund protection actually attaches, and how a delay or yard default changes the capital at risk. Compare security limits, expiry dates, demand wording and recovery lag without treating an uncollected guarantee as cash in hand.

Rapid buyer-security screenEnter paid deposits, the maximum refund guarantee amount and a hypothetical default date. The recovery percentage is your assumption, not an issuer default probability or legal enforceability conclusion.
Milestone-to-security workbenchBuild the actual pre-delivery payment schedule and assign each installment to one guarantee code. Each payment is assigned to at most one modeled instrument; overlapping security must be reviewed separately. All day numbers are relative to shipbuilding-contract signing.
Contract & credit boundary: Payment and refund rights, lawful rescission, demand mechanics, guarantee effectiveness, bank credit quality, sanctions, assignment, interest and liquidated damages depend on actual documents and applicable law. Projected recovery is illustrative, not certified or guaranteed. Obtain legal, bank and technical due diligence before authorizing payments or exercising remedies.

1 · Contract Milestones & Buyer Payments

Paid = already disbursed (must be no later than assessment day). Scheduled = assumed future disbursement if due before the modeled default date. Delivery = excluded from pre-delivery refund exposure. Guarantee code identifies a single non-overlapping bucket.

2 · Refund Guarantees & Bank Security

Each code has one distinct installment bucket, face-value cap, effective date, expiry and modeled payment-recovery assumption. Pending, disputed and out-of-term instruments are NOT credited as base-case recovery. Conditional wording requires legal review even if its status is verified.

3 · Yard & Guarantor Credit Watchlist

Qualitative monitoring only. Credit signals are NOT assigned invented probabilities of default. Verify audit dates, issuer ratings, orderbook, liens, parent guarantees and political or transfer restrictions independently.

4 · Incremental Loss & Replacement Cost Register

Add distinct, non-overlapping expenses beyond unrecovered contract payments: replacement-vessel premium, extra financing / project expenses, legal costs or cancellation costs. These inputs do not establish legal recoverability.

5 · Documents, Approvals & Award Holds

Critical pending or failed checks appear as blocking holds. Evidence reference is kept locally in the interface and exports but excluded from hidden Tool Data. A completed checklist does not certify enforceability.

6 · Delivery Default & Recovery Scenarios

Pick a case to see its cumulative payments and security at that default day. Recovery multiplier applies only to otherwise eligible, verified instruments; extra lag applies to their stated collection delays. Financing carry uses the longer of the recovery lag and the entered funding horizon. Additive scenario costs are incremental to Register 4.
