Cruise Ship Elevator Capacity, Passenger Flow, Outage Risk & Modernization ROI Tool

Model passenger demand against lift-bank service rates, identify queue accumulation and outage vulnerability, and compare control upgrades or added capacity against their capital and operating consequences. Designed for operator planning, not certified lift traffic design.

Deck-by-deck service mapQueue & wait forecastPeak-period trafficOutage resilienceModernization valueFive-year economic outlook
Fast lift-bank pressure testEnter one representative bank serving a peak passenger movement. Use observed cars, car loading and cycle time when available. Demand is a peak five-minute rate, not a percentage transported in one elevator trip.
Fleet hotel-operations engineering screenEnter the planning envelope, then use six editable registers below: lift banks, traffic waves, retrofit packages, outages, costs and review gates. Demand waves are assigned to specific banks. Upgrade packages must be selected at most once per bank.
Engineering and financial boundary: This is a deterministic queue and capacity planning model, not an elevator dispatcher simulation, accessibility assessment, passenger-safety certification or approved modernization design. Cycle times, usable occupancy, demand patterns and passenger-time value are assumptions. Owner approval, OEM design, marine class/flag requirements, and actual ship emergency procedures require separate verification. Passenger-time value is an economic proxy, not booked revenue.

Elevator Bank & Service Territory Register

Individual cars are aggregated by bank. Deck ranges must include the origin and destination decks assigned to that bank. Estimated cycle times are not guaranteed equipment performance.

Passenger Demand & Movement Waves

Peak is the estimated passengers per five minutes during the wave. Enter a demand shape, timing, origin and destination; these are simplified assigned-bank flows, not a full destination-dispatch simulation.

Modernization & Lift Capacity Packages

Mark Apply to include an upgrade in the proposed plan. A bank may have only one applied upgrade. Savings and design performance are user-entered assumptions; only reviewed packages clear the tender gate.

Outage & Maintenance Window Register

Minutes are relative to the start of the peak period. An outage can apply to baseline only or to both cases, but cannot remove more than the installed bank cars. Enter observed or deliberately stressed outages.

Incremental Contract & Operating Costs

Only amounts incremental to this modernization decision. Recurring cash costs are annual; capital/startup charges occur once. Avoid entering a cost already included in package CAPEX.

Safety, Accessibility & Contract Review Gates

A financial preference is not an authorization to alter lift control, fire-service behavior, accessible service or class-approved systems. Unresolved critical reviews must remain visible.
