Ro-Ro Vehicle Terminal Yard Capacity, PDI & Vessel Loading Flow Tool

Run vehicle arrivals through finite parking, inspection and preparation capacity, then test which units can make vessel cutoffs. Expose overloaded zones, processing queues, rollover exposure and the cost of vehicle-days on terminal.

Fast yard-and-vessel screen · 12 inputsOpening vehicles are already load-ready. Daily truck and rail deliveries enter inspection and preparation queues. A follow-on sailing is illustrative, not a confirmed booking. Days are relative to the assessment start.
Terminal operating workbenchSet capacities and commercial assumptions here, then edit six operational registers below. Each vehicle lot is processed as integer units through its required stages; only confirmed vessel calls accept allocations.
Planning boundary: The unit-flow model is a daily approximation, not a terminal operating system, confirmed berth slot, cargo acceptance, customs release, EV fire-risk clearance, vessel stability assessment or approved cargo stowage/securing plan. Capacity, acceptance, lashing and carrier cutoffs must be verified separately. Modeled missed-sailing and storage charges are user assumptions, not automatic contractual liabilities.

1 · Vehicle Arrival & Preparation Lots

Each row can describe a truck, rail or opening-stock lot. PDI/prep/charging percentages are modeled as independent subgroups; an evidence hold stays blocked. Target vessel uses its current row number (1 = first). Zone code can be Auto or the exact code entered below.

2 · Parking Yard & Zone Allocation

Opening occupancy consumes spaces but is not included in booked vessel loads or charged again. Vehicle lots prefer their selected zone; the engine can use spare open zones before placing units in the outside queue.

3 · PCTC / Ro-Ro Vessel Windows

Loading allocation happens at the entered cutoff. Vehicles must be processed and inside the terminal by that day. They leave the yard during the loading window, limited by vessel space, vehicle lanes and user-estimated per-lane daily flow.

4 · Closures, Weather & Equipment Interruptions

Day windows use inclusive start / exclusive end. Percentage is the remaining throughput, not the percentage lost. Multiple simultaneous restrictions use the tightest remaining percentage.

5 · Service & Commercial Cost Adjustments

Optional incremental costs such as rework, overflow transfer, additional security or handling. Values are additive and should not duplicate the general unit-service rates above.

6 · Documentation, Safety & Loading Readiness Checks

Critical unresolved items generate an award/loading hold. Status reflects entered evidence only; it does not automatically validate customs, cargo securing or electric-vehicle controls.
