Shipbuilding Milestone, Change Order, Yard Delay & Payment Exposure Tool

Shipbuilding Milestone, Change Order, Yard Delay & Payment Exposure Tool

Connect construction work packages, owner/yard milestones, approved variations and payment evidence. Model the likely delivery date under resource constraints, trace schedule drivers and keep contractual extensions, pending change orders and financial exposure separate.

Fast delivery and cash exposure screen: 12 inputsCompare physical progress with the contract schedule. The forecast extrapolates achieved progress only as a planning assumption, not as a binding delivery forecast.
Project controls and owner/yard reviewSet the contract basis, then edit work packages, trade capacity, changes, payment milestones, interruptions and acceptance gates below. Completed packages are treated as historical and unfinished work is scheduled from the entered status day.
Contract / class boundary: The tool does not certify construction progress, issue a payment certificate, grant an extension of time, decide concurrent delay, establish liquidated-damages entitlement or authorize delivery. The operative contract, change orders, guarantees, class/flag approvals and acceptance records govern.

Work Packages & Predecessor Register

Unique work IDs, comma-separated predecessor IDs, planned duration, physical completion, trade and crew need. Approved change-order effort is attached to its named package; time extension is entered separately.

Yard Trade & Crew Availability

Model shared trade capacity across parallel packages. The recovery scenarios add one crew slot per trade or improve future production, without changing the contractual delivery date.

Variation / Change Order Register

Approved changes adjust the modeled contract price and work effort. Pending proposals are tracked separately and used only in the explicit risk scenario. A signed variation does not automatically grant an extension of time.

Progress Payment & Certificate Register

Installment percentages are applied to the revised approved contract price. A payment is "earned / verified" here only when supporting evidence is verified and its work trigger is complete. Actual paid cash is reported independently.

Yard Interruptions & Access Restrictions

Verified downtime blocks the selected trade or all active trades. Pending interruptions are monitored but not treated as certain downtime.

Class, Owner & Delivery Readiness Gates

Unverified critical approvals block a "ready" status, even if the financial model shows a favorable delivery date. These are user-supplied statuses, not real-time class verification.
