Laytime, Demurrage, Dispatch & Port Delay Cost Tool

Turn a port call or voyage-charter Statement of Facts into a transparent time-and-money calculation. Simple mode estimates laytime used, demurrage or despatch, and the gap between contractual settlement and vessel delay economics. Advanced mode runs a chronological event ledger with separate laytime and demurrage counting factors, reversible or separate load/discharge pools, NOR/clock controls, disputed-time visibility, expected claim recovery and full port-delay cost analysis.

Fast laytime / demurrage screen: 10 inputs.Simple mode starts after the laytime clock has validly begun. Enter total elapsed time from laytime commencement to cargo completion and the hours that do not count under the charter. Advanced mode is for NOR timing, event-by-event exceptions and different rules once the vessel is on demurrage.

NOR / Laytime Clock

The tool does not determine whether NOR is legally valid. Enter the clock start you consider effective after applying the charterparty, NOR validity, office-hour/notice-time provisions and any waiver/acceptance issue.

hours added to NOR for the derived start.
Leave blank to use NOR + notice hours.

Statement of Facts / Time-Counting Ledger

Enter non-overlapping chronological periods. “Laytime factor” controls how much of each hour counts before laytime expires. “Demurrage factor” separately controls time after the vessel is on demurrage. This lets you model specific exceptions that do or do not continue after laytime expires.

Laytime / Claim Checks

Contract boundary: this tool performs arithmetic from the counting rules you enter. It does not decide whether NOR was valid, whether a vessel was an arrived ship, whether an exception applies, whether a charterer caused a delay, whether “once on demurrage” is displaced by express wording, or whether despatch/detention/damages are legally recoverable. Those questions turn on the actual charterparty, facts and governing law.
