Shipboard Lifting Appliance SWL, Proof Load, Load Radius & 2026 SOLAS Survey Tool

SOLAS II-1/3-13 • MSC.1/Circ.1663 • SWL at Radius • Port Proof Load • Five-Year Retest • Annual Thorough Examination • Loose Gear

Shipboard Lifting Appliance SWL, Proof Load, Load Radius & 2026 SOLAS Survey Tool

Screen a planned shipboard lift against certified SWL at radius and the 2026 SOLAS survey chain. Advanced adds certified load-chart points, operational load screening, rope and brake demand, proof loads, loose-gear proof formulas, pre-2026 transition status, documentation readiness and repair/survey cost.

Lift & Statutory Quick Screen

Use the certified SWL at the actual working radius and operating condition. SWL is a certified static load, not a generic dynamic lifting allowance.

Annual / 12-monthly screen.
Retest at least once every five years.

SOLAS Applicability & 2026 Transition Basis

Transition logic: pre-2026 lifting appliances are to be tested, thoroughly examined and brought into the II-1/3-13 certification framework no later than the first renewal survey on or after 1 January 2026. A valid pre-2026 test/thorough-examination certificate under another international instrument acceptable to the Administration may be considered compliant.

Engineering screening only, not an IMO universal factor.
Use approved engineering basis only.

Enter certified radius/SWL points. The tool never extrapolates. Linear interpolation is shown only as a screening value unless the certified load chart permits it.

Engineering / compliance screening only: this tool is not an approved crane load chart, structural or foundation analysis, wire-rope discard assessment, class approval, competent-person examination or authorization to conduct a proof load test. Use the actual certified SWL/load chart, Administration or recognized-class requirements, manufacturer manuals and an approved test procedure.
