Hatch Cover Ultrasonic Tightness, Seal Repair & Wet-Cargo Claim Exposure Tool
Turn an ultrasonic hatch-cover test into an owner-level repair and risk decision. Compare closed-hatch readings with the Open Hatch Value acceptance threshold, rank leak locations, quantify failed seal length, screen gasket compression and securing condition, build a repair and retest budget, estimate cargo-at-risk and probability-weighted wet-cargo exposure, and show whether repairing the hatch now is economically justified before the next sensitive cargo.
Ultrasonic Test Basis
Industry practice compares closed-hatch readings with an Open Hatch Value (OHV). The common IACS / P&I convention treats readings at or above about 10% of OHV as requiring corrective action, subject to the instrument maker's approved procedure.
Simple Closed-Hatch Readings
Advanced Ultrasonic Leak Register
Record the actual scan locations. Each row can carry its own reading, affected length, gasket compression and proposed repair action. Rows are automatically ranked by severity.
| Location | Reading | Affected m | Compression % | Defect | Repair | Repair qty |

Wet-Cargo Claim Exposure
Claim probability is intentionally user-entered. Ultrasonic leakage severity is not converted into an invented insurance probability.
